When this photograph was taken by Milton Kent on 26 May 1917, the timber weatherboard double-storey conjoined terrace at 10–12 Harwood Street was in the process of being demolished. The windows are boarded up. One half of the terrace had been a grocery store run by W Fross. The building to the right is a terrace with wrought iron balconies. The awning of the pub opposite is in the top right corner. Pyrmont locals pick over an empty block of land next door.
