Petition from the undersigned land owners, growers of fruits, vegetables etc or otherwise interested in the George Street Market and the Market Wharf, claiming that some bye laws, if carried into operation, would militate against the interest of the producer, affording a vantage ground to the retailer and having a direct tendency to discourage production and prevent competition, therefore entreating that Council will so modify the bye laws for regulation of the City Market, that production may receive all due encouragement and all commodities be freely and unrestrictedly disposed of therein.
