The 19 volumes of construction progress photographs were commissioned by the City Building Surveyor’s department between 1909 and 1922 (Volumes 19 to 24, 26, 32 to 36, 38 to 41, 45, 47 and 48). The photographs show the construction of council-owned assets, with the photographs usually taken a week or fortnight apart.

Photographs from 7/8/1918 onwards (A-00040045 to A-00040048) have Milton Kent stamp. The album is half full.
