The plaque outlines the history of the Cooperage, stating that 'The Cooperage was erected in 1901 to manufacture, repair and store wooden barrels. The Cooperage was an integral element in the distillery operated by CSR at Pyrmont over the 1900s. The building is an example of a Federation era cooperage rare for its association with a large industrial complex. The building was refurbished for office use in 2005'. The plaque also features two images with the caption: 'The Cooperage in 1996. The now removed stair and barrel bridge connected the Cooperage to the Distillery. The covered bridge had steel rails to guide the barrels in transit.
