A long time in service of Council and trusted with jobs requiring skill and neatness, first man to put down tar pavements, as Mr Smithers can certify, can carry out any work. Always had 8/- per day until the all round reduction under Mayor Fowler, and since then never applied for an increase. Request increase, as given to others in Council's service. Notes: TC to make enquiries on merits; City Surveyor; In view of Mr Smithers report, recommend an increase; Increase to 8/- per day;
