Letter: William Clare 72 Redfern St, requesting compensation for injuries occurring at Goodlet & Riley Sts due to an unmarked washaway; site sketch and note overleaf followed by letter from W Clare attaching medical certificate; followed by City Solicitor's opinion dated 6/8/94 denying City Council liability. (Note: Mr William Clare making application for compensation for injuries alleged to have been sustained through falling, Riley at Goodlet Sts. Either by day or night walking there is no danger with the exercise of ordinary care. It may be as well for the City Solicitor to inspect but I feel sure that the City Council is in no wise liable: RWR; 18/7/94. For City Solicitor's opinion Mr Waldron will be good enough to confer with Mr Richards City Surveyor: HJD; 25/7/94. Inform that the Council cannot admit any liability: HJD; 14/8/94)
