Description
View south west along St James Road showing the David Jones department store at 113-133 Elizabeth Street, corner of Market Street, with decorations including British Union Jack flag for the royal visit of Queen Elizabeth II. A tram can been seen and trees in Hyde Park North are visible at left. Donated by Jenny Armstrong. The donor's mother, Gweneth Marie Watson, worked in the sewing room of David Janes Elizabeth Street store and spent her lunch hours photographing the street decorations put up for the Queen Elizabeth's royal visit in February 1954.
