The street address is 102–118 Oxford Street (the caption in the album - 124-136 Oxford Street - is incorrect). The shopfronts are covered in painted signs and bill posters. Relocated businesses include Hop Sing Co at 104 Oxford Street, removed to 134 Oxford Street, and Will Smart & Son barber saloon next door at 106. G A Zink practical tailor was at 108 Oxford Street. A sign on the building pediment reads: 'removing to our new premises 12 doors lower down opposite Brighton Hotel Jany 1912’. A sign on the awning reads: 'The right man on the wrong side'. Further along at 114.5 Oxford Street is a shopfront for A. Oscar Dawes, Manufacturing Jeweller, and Kinsela, Undertaker and Embalmers at 116. The City holds a glass plate negative and a contact print for this image. The print was in album donated to the State Library of NSW in 1983 and returned to the custody of the City in 2023.
