Under the program, 'Newtown as Imagined', by Unmitigated Audacity Productions a small team created street murals in Newtown and Erskineville. The collection also contains photographs of artists working independently of the group.DescriptionThis series of photographs, 'Newtown as Imagined', shows street art murals in Erskineville and Newtown. They were was created by Juilee Pryor between 1991 and 1995.
Under the handle Unmitigated Audacity Productions, a number of artists including Juilee Pryor, Andrew Aiken, Tony Spanos and others, painted some of Newtown’s most iconic murals. Other street art murals were created by independent artists Matthew Peet and Tim Guider.
The collection was acquired by City Archives in 2010 and comprised 76 photographs of the murals and artists working on them. Most of the murals have now gone, so the photographic record is the only existing record.LanguageNo linguistic content - Not applicable (zxx)
