Behind them is a crowd of people behind a security fence. This event is believed to be the Sydney Pride New Years Eve party, which sold 10,000 tickets. The Pride New Years Eve party was organised by the Sydney Pride Centre, a community centre project in Erskineville that aimed to build vital, visible and positive LGBTQ spaces. The centre was originally closed in 2007, however, it has been re-established in Newtown since August 2024.
