During the interview, Nile holds a leaflet promoting the march as a 'Say Yes to the Cleansing March'. Behind him are queer activists from a counter-protest who are holding several signs. One of the counter-protesters is in a nun costume and holds a sign that reads 'stop harassment of homosexuals'. The protest was organised by Nile and was against the Sydney Mardi Gras parade and the LGBTQI+ community. The protestors were mainly members of the Festival of Light, which was a conservative Christian organisation led by Niles. They marched from Oxford Street to Taylor Square, which was the traditional route of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
