Description
The Hotel Metropole, with frontages on Young, Bent and Phillip streets, was built by the Australian Coffee Palace Company and designed by Sheerin and Hennessy Architects. The hotel, which could accommodate 300 guests, was opened by the Mayor of Sydney, Sydney Burdekin, on 14 January 1890.
The hotel closed in May 1970 and was demolished later that year.
