A competition was held in 1903 to design a fountain using the bequest of Mrs SL Comrie.
The drinking fountain for humans and animals was originally located at St James Church at Queens Square. It was designed to be used by both horses and dogs.
The fountain was moved to Drivers Road in Moore Park in 1934 during the restructuring of Hyde Park. It was dismantled in 1995. The fountain was then reconstructed in 2011 and placed where it currently stands. Subject tagsFountains
