In the background towards the right, the University of Technology Sydney’s (UTS) main tower building is seen. Yabun, meaning ‘song with a beat’ in the indigenous Gadigal language, is an annual festival held on the traditional lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. Yabun, run by the Gadigal Information Service since 2001, has been held on January 26 in Victoria Park since 2002 and is considered one of the largest gatherings of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in Australia.
