Aerial view looking north west showing train lines, fire and smoke. The building was erected in 1881 and in 1922 an additional 3 floors were added. The fire started in the morning of the 25th September 1935. The whole of the Metropolitan Brigades were ordered out and there were 20 engines and about 230 men fighting the blaze.
