Unique IDAS-0912DateBetween 1st January 1965 and 1st January 1966Date qualifiercircaFormatVolume - HardcoverDescriptionThe Lord Mayor's Sydney Waratah Comforts Fund was established by a resolution which was carried at its inaugural meeting on 30 November, 1965. At this time another resolution was carried that a Committee be appointed to manage the fund, and rules were created. The Lord Mayor was the President of the fund, the Town Clerk, Deputy Town Clerk and the Chief Clerk of Sydney acted as joint Honorary Secretaries, the City Treasurer acted as Honorary Treasurer and the Lord Mayor's Secretary as the Honorary Assistant Treasurer.

The objective of the Committee was to manage the Fund that it might assist in providing "comforts, equipment and entertainment" for Australian Servicemen and women serving overseas. At the time of its creation, this was referring to those serving in Vietnam.

The minutes were duplicated onto foolscap paper and interleaved in a bound volume. The rules have been initialled - the initials, however, are indecipherable.

The fund was dissolved on 6 April 1966 by a resolution at the final meeting. It was also resolved that all existing and future contributions would be directed to the "Australian Forces Overseas Fund".
