Originally installed in 1926, the bronze figures were sculpted by Sir Edgar Bertram Mackennal and the marble pediment was cut and polished in Italy. The memorial was presented to the City of Sydney by Henry Gullett and was originally looking east. Its new position now has it looking west towards the Sydney Central Business District. One of a large sequence of images taken between circa 1954 and 1963 to document construction of the Cahill Expressway between Woolloomooloo and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.LanguageNo linguistic content - Not applicable (zxx)
