Unique IDA-00505466SeriesLetters Sent by the MayorDate10th March 1845FormatVolume - HardcoverDescriptionLetter from WC Wills (Secretary, Office of the Mayor) to G A Buckland (Principal Superintendent, Convicts Office): Instruction to acknowledge receipt of letter, of this day's date, requesting permission to use the City's large Iron Roller twice a week, for the next fortnight, for the purpose of levelling the new Cricket Ground on Hyde Park, and to advise that, according to the City Surveyor's report, the Roller is the property of the Government and was lent to the Corporation until the beginning of February last. As it is therefore entirely out of Council's control to grant the use of the Roller, for the purpose requested, it is suggested that an application for the same should be made through the Colonial Secretary.
