Front Wheel Drive V8 (Fitted to ADO17 - Austin 1800). Includes 32 photos. Designed in early 1968 and built in late 1968, this mock up vehicle was intended to demonstrate the features callled for in the 1967 report - BMCLAHG 002. Before the vehcile was completed, it was apparent that the development and manufacturing costs were beyond the company's resourses and the decision was made to adopt a (then) conventional rear wheel drive design. The vehicle was nevertheless completed to be a physical illustration of that fact. The exercise did illustrate the range of prototype manufacturung skills that the company had developed.
