Squeezed in behind is the Particular Baptist Church and manse. There is a painted sign on the end of the two-storey terrace at right, for ‘Waratah House, Residential Chambers, Single & Double Rooms'. The single-storey corner building is pasted with signs reading ‘Premises coming down – entire stock to go regardless of stock’. Mark Foy’s landmark Piazza store was directly opposite, which may account for the stylishly-dressed women crossing at this busy intersection. Anthony Hordern & Sons department store is in the middle distance.
