Kerr and Bingham were high class tailors at 247B Pitt Street. Their shop window is draped with fabrics. In February 1912, they were notifying customers that their premises on Pitt Street was being removed. The building next door at 247A Pitt Street was used as auction rooms by John P Lister for almost 20 years. Lister's Auction Mart attracted big city crowds, who swarmed to hear him 'hold forth'.
