Obituary: Mr. T. M. WRIGHT.- The Tenterfield Times records with feelings of regret the death of the oldest resident in the township of Tenterfield, viz.- Mr. Thomas Mounsteven Wright, which took place at his residence, Cornwall Cottage, on Wednesday last, March 2nd, after a lingering illness of some weeks, at the advanced age of sixty-four years. The deceased was a grandson of the late Sir Hugh Mounsteven, and arrived in Sydney on February 10th, 1840, where he remained for a period of seven years, when he obtained the appointment of clerk of petty sessions for this district, then comparatively only an insignificant place. He filled the office for a period of seventeen years and three months to the satisfaction of all, when he retired upon a pension which he enjoyed until his death. The deceased had been a resident in the township for over twenty two years, and while not being the oldest in the district, he certainly was the oldest in the township. The deceased always took a lively interest in the advancement of the district, and was much respected by all who knew him, and great sympathy was shown by the large attendance at his funeral.
