Thomas James Tyrrell known as James, Jim or Jimmie Tyrrell.
Secretary of the Sydney Municipal Council Employees Union probably from its inception in 1903. Secretary of its successor Unions – the Municipal Employees Association, the Federated Municipal Employees Association of Australia and the Federated Municipal and Shire Council Employees Union of Australia. He served as Secretary, President or General Secretary of these Municipal Employees unions, certainly by July 1909 until his death in 1942.
He was a member of the NSW Legislative Council from August 1925 until his death in 1942.
