In the foreground a policeman directs vehicular traffic and pedestrians. On right hand side are a Woolworths store at number 542-544, Morley Johnson's at number 546-552 and Fishers Chambers at number 554. On left hand side is top of T&G Assurance Building at 201-211 Elizabeth Street. Bebarfald & Co. was a retailer of home furnishings and a manufacturer of furniture.
