Reginald Lancelot Thompson was born in December 1880. He served his articles with JB Alderson, architect, and was subsequently employed by him. When he applied for appointment to Council in 1903, he presented very favourable references supplied by prominent Sydney architects, Varney Parkes, John Fitzpatrick and TW Hodgson.
