Jackson was Lord Mayor in 1931. Member of the Finance Committee, 1919-1921 and 1930-1934 and its Vice Chairman in 1930 and 1932; the Health and By-Laws Committee, 1919-1920, 1925-1927, and 1933-1935; the Works Committee in 1921, 1930 and 1932-1935; and the Electricity Supply Committee, 1925-1927. Jackson was elected MLA for Sydney, 1922-1917 and for Nepean, 1927-1956. He was also the Minister for Local Government, 1932-1933. He was born on 26 November 1874 and died on 23 August 1961.
