The albums also contain photographs of the Sydney Town Hall, and Mayors of other Sydney Municipalities in 1920, which are duplicates of an album presented to the Prince of Wales on a Royal Tour in 1920. Some of the photographs appear to have once been part of a composite photograph, later cut up as separate photographs. Not every Council was photographed.

The photographs were created by:
- Civic Affairs (AG-0030) in the period 01/01/1989 to 31/12/1992
- Civic and Public Affairs Department (AG-0009) in the period 14/06/1984 to 31/12/1988
- Administration Department (AG-0003) in the period 29/06/1970 to 14/06/1984
- Town Clerks Department (AG-0040) in the period 01/01/1877 to 29/06/1970.

The photographs were maintained in the Town Clerk's Department until 1965, when they were transferred to the Sydney City Library (AS-0034, TC 817/1965). The albums were kept in the Reference Area of the Library until approximately 1990 when they were retrieved by the Curator of the Town Hall due to their poor condition. The last volume containing items 586 to 636 remained in the custody of the Lord Mayor’s Secretary until it was transferred to Archives via the Curator of the Town Hall Collection in 1996.
