McElhone was Lord Mayor in 1922. Member of the Works Committee, 1909-1910 and 1927; the Electric Lighting Committee, 1909-1927; the Finance Committee, 1909-1912 and 1919-1921; and the Health and Bay-Laws Committee, 1919-1829.
