On the left hand side is the QVB Chambers (formerly Eagley Warehouse) at 143 to 145 York Street. In the centre is the Queen Victoria Building at 78 to 139 York Street and 429 to 481 George Street. Built on the site of the former Sydney Markets between 1893 and 1898, it was designed by New South Wales Government Architect George McRae in Romanesque Revival style. In the background is St Martins Tower at 31 Market Street.
