On the left is the Telstra Telephone Exchange at number 225 to 227. In the centre is the City South Telephone Exchange building at number 219 to 223. A six storey sandstone clad building in palazzo style, it was designed by the Commonwealth Architect, John Smith Murdoch and built about 1925. Upper floors were added in 2006 for Laiki Bank. On the right is the New South Wales Fire Brigade Headquarters at number 211 to 217. In the background are, from left, Polding Centre at 133 to 141 Liverpool Street, 324 to 330 Pitt Street, and 310 to 322 Pitt Street.
