To the left is the Criterion Hotel at number 258 to 260 with signage for Tooths Hotels. In the centre is Pilgrim House at number 262 to 264. It is undergoing reconstruction work, with signage for a builder. Built in 1928, it was the first Federal office of the Australian Broadcasting Commission (later Corporation). The Sydney Monorail track runs across the centre of the photograph.
