To the left is the rear of the Capitol Theatre. In the centre is the Manning Building located at 441 to 459 Pitt Street, corner of Hay Street. Designed by George Macrae, the New South Wales Government Architect, it was built between 1892 and 1928 on the site of the Belmore Markets and incorporated part of the market structure. Shops with Chinese signage are on the ground floor. A real estate agent's For Sale sign is on the corner. To the right is the Metro Garden Hotel (later Metro Hotel Marlow Sydney Central) under construction at 439 Pitt Street. In the upper right background is Roden Cutler House at 24 to 28 Campbell Street. In the foreground are pedestrians, traffic and parked vehicles.
