To the left along Campbell Street, the buildings ares occupied by Chinese shops. On the corner is the Palace Hotel at 730 to 742 George Street, with signage for Toohey's beer. This is an intact 3 storey Victorian facade in Italianate style built about 1876-1877. A real estate agent's development sign, mentioning restoration of the adjacent Capitol Theatre, is on the corner facade. In the foreground are pedestrians, traffic and parked vehicles.
