Along the base of the mural are figures of people, and a small raised garden bed. It was painted over two nights in August 1991 by Andrew Aiken and Juilee Pryor with the help of others, notably Tony Spanos who provided the cherry picker crane used on the second night. This picture was taken shortly after the mural was completed, when Marrickville Council had cleared away the shrubbery obscuring the base. Council eventually removed the garden bed altogether.
