On 28 May 1984 Council approved the following functions for the Committee: approval or refusal of subdivisions, development and building applications over $200,000 (CA 59, Building and Development Committee was responsible for applications under $200,000), public participation in the activities of the Committee, fostering growth and change in the community, and ensuring justice for individuals.
