Market Sites Committee

Unique IDAG-0097DescriptionThis Committee was appointed to collect data and enquire into eligible sites for fruit and vegetable markets and report to Council.

The first meeting was held on 2 May 1907. The Committee recommended to Council that the Engine Street site be resumed and markets erected on it, and that the present Vegetable Markets at Belmore, known as the Sir William Manning Markets, be let for any purpose the Council may determine.
