Unique IDAG-0128DescriptionThis Committee was set up by the Lord Mayor Sir Norman Nock, after consultation with the Premier of NSW, to relieve distress caused by major bush fires at that time.
It was not a committee of Council but the Lord Mayor was the President of the Fund, and the Town Clerk, Deputy Town Clerk, City Treasurer and City Auditor all had honorary positions of the Fund. The other members included heads of government departments, business associations, and newspaper editors.
