Specifically it shows survey details for the proposed widening and extension of Moore's Road. Moore's Road was renamed Dalgety Road in 1905.

The map includes annotations and details of property boundaries. Structures made of wood, iron and brick are identified and all buildings, estates and wharves are named. Buildings include Darley House, Merriman Terrace, Kelso Villa, Spencer Lodge, Moorecliff House, Ophthalmic Hospital and Moore's Stores. Wharves are named Smiths, Adelaide and Towns.

The map is controlled by the Street Index Cards AS-0504 (01/01/1893 to 01/01/1893) and was created by the City Surveyors Department AG-0087 (01/01/1893 to 01/01/1893).

The map is signed by N M Gordon, City Surveyor, and dated 1893. Plan Number S6-201/1 in CRS 521, City Engineer's Plans of Proposed Survey Work, is an 1892 version. It is not known why this map was not included in the Departmental numbering system. A reference is included on the Moore's Road card in AS-0504, Street Index Cards, to this 1893 map.
