The posters advertise the annual festival, events and individual artists and include some Carnivale posters. Some of the posters are laminated and a small number are cibachrome. A couple of posters have been mounted onto large block card.

The posters vary in size from A4 to the largest at 120 x 380 cm. A small number of the posters are slightly torn.

The first Sydney Festival was held in January, 1977.
