The plans/specifications are for building approvals.

They were created by:
-Alexandria Municipal Council AG-0062 (26/03/1924 to 31/12/1948)
-City Architect and Building Surveyors Department II AG-0016 (01/01/1949 to 22/12/1949).

Each records entry/approval is entered on a separate register page, and shows: date of lodgement; name and address of person lodging; description of building or alterations; situation [address]; owner's name; [description of] alterations required; estimated cost; and fees paid, dates of approval and return [of documents submitted], and signature of the person receiving the plans.

Successful application register entries are stamped "approved" with the signature of the Town Clerk and an application and permit number.

Each volume is indexed at the front, linking the owner's name to the volume page number.
