The departure of Auntie Joyce Ingram from the Block was commemorated in March 2004 with an earth oven at Pemulwuy Park. She was the last resident on the block, her terrace, number 78 Eveleigh Street was demolished not long after this event. Photographer's note: Taken during 'the hangi, the farewell to Auntie Joyce. The farewell was organised by Tzi-Chi, the Taiwanese Buddhist group. Tzu-Chi also distributed bread collected from bakeries. One of a set of images showing mainly Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander people on The Block, an area in Redfern usually seen as comprising Hugo, Louis, Caroline and Eveleigh Streets. The photographer is Ms Patricia Baillie.
