This building also housed the Department of Works and Local Government. There are no street traffic lights at this intersection. On the left hand corner is a postal mailbox, beside one of the many bare trees. Further down Bridge Street is the Department of Public Works on the left and then the large building on the corner of Bridge, Loftus and Young Streets, occupied by the Departments of Education, Child Welfare, Agriculture and Water Conservation, which was built in the Edwardian Baroque architectural style.
