This was the site of the first contact between the British colonisers and the Gadigal people. The sculpture evokes the cultural and physical history of the site, before and after the pivotal turning point of 1788 when contact and invasion / colonisation took place. The name is from historian Rhys Jones' essay 'Ordering the Landscape'.
