Appended: Memo from Edward Bell, City Engineer, 27 June 1865, stating that on inquiry he has found that some of the owners are minors and that while the others are willing to sell they are not able to do so until the minors come of age; Bell recommends that the Council apply to Parliament for a Private Bill authorising an equitable sale; Petition [1], August 1865, from owners and residents in Liverpool St, College St and South Head Rd stating the dilapidated premises at the junction of College St and South Head Rd encroach over nearly one half of Liverpool St narrowing access to South Head Rd and requesting its removal [see separate item description]; Memo from JR Roe, October 1858, reporting on the removal of the house, giving its current rental income and suggesting a formula for compensation, and reporting on the levels of Kent Street; Petition [2], July 1858, from ratepayers stating that the premises owned by Thomas Smith and occupied as shops and dwellings by Messrs Perkin and Inman respectively obstruct South Head Road and requesting its removal [see separate item description]; Memo from Chas H Woolcott, Town Clerk, with Council resolution, 16 August 1858, to refer the petition to the Committee with annotation by Edward Bell, City Engineer, with dimensions and description of land; continuedLanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
