'Sir, The injunction granted some months since to stop quarrying steps in Argyle Street still remains in place without any apparent reason and I regret to add to the serious injury of the contractor, a poor man who tendered for the execution of the work at a low rate to obtain the stone for building purposes; his inability to proceed with the contract has injured him in carrying out others. It being sufficiently apparent that the proceedings against the Commissioners originating with this injunction were merely vexatious, a representation of inutility [?] of continuing the injunction and the positive inconvenience attending it, will I am persuaded bring about an immediate settlement of this matter.
