Riley, Mayor, re press report on the fire at Atkinson's Photographic Studio, George St., where it was reported that the fire plug was rusted up. The City Engineer is requested to devise a plan to inspect the plugs & boxes at least once a month. The CE reports that the Supt of Fire Brigades states that the difficulty in opening the plug was exaggerated and the problem was caused by the turncock's panic when confronted by "the great flare of the fire".
