(Note: For City Surveyor's information: HJD;7/2/91. This is a letter from the Under Secretary Public Works department re proposed tramway works in Moore Park & Cleveland Street. As herein stated the Engineer has consulted the Town Clerk and myself respecting the matter. In my minute dated 15th August 1890 I recommended that the curves in all cases be at least twenty four (24') feet from the building line parallel thereto or adjacent to which the nearest rail passes so as to allow at least twelve (12') feet from the face of the kerb to the nearest rail and thus admit vehicular traffic with safety & I would respectfully suggest that the operating department be requested to so construct the tramway as will admit of the allowance being made, also that in all cases sufficient fall be left from the Northern rail to the Northern gutters of Cleveland Street and that plans and sections of the tramway and contingent works be forwarded the City Council for the guidance of the Municipal Officers: RWR;11/2/91)LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordYes
