In 1900, the rent was being collected by her son Edward Day. The tenants were Emma Moore, her husband, their two teenage sons, and a lodger named Frank Scaldon. In March 1900, a suspicious case of bubonic plague at this address was reported to the Board of Health. The tenants were sent to the Quarantine Station at Manly. Photographer John Degotardi documented this building as part of the NSW Government response to the outbreak of bubonic plague in 1900.
