Newspaper Report of Death: SUDDEN DEATH OF A LAMPLIGHTER. A lamplighter named Thomas Storan, 42 years of age, was found in an unconscious state In Beaufort-lane, about 6.30 a.m. on Saturday. He was taken thence to his home, 158 Macquarie- street South, and subsequently removed to the Sydney Hospital by Constable Harland, of No. 2 Station. On arrival at the hospital, life was pronounced to be extinct, and the body was conveyed to the North Morgue. A post-mortem examination, conducted by Dr. Jamieson, revealed the fact that death was due to natural causes. [ref: The Daily Telegraph 12 August 1901 p6]
