Denis O'Brien, 38, drayman, was fined 20s for using indecent language in Lacey-street on Saturday night, and on a further charge of assaulting Constable W. Kemp by striking him while he was being arrested he was sent to gaol for fourteen days. [ref: Evening News 6 July 1896 p4]
